Assistant Pastor
Pastor Hoover has been with Trinity Lutheran Church & School since June 2004. Originally from Appleton, Wisconsin, Pastor Hoover attended Concordia University-River Forest and graduated in 1998 with a BA in Education. Pastor and his wife, Andrea, were married in July of 1998 and now have four children, Alexa, Callie, August, and Cillian. Pastor and his family are well-versed in the Midwest. During a relatively short amount of time, they have taken up residence in the following areas: Quincy, Illinois; Fort Wayne, Indiana; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and now Traverse City, Michigan.
After teaching 3rd grade for two years at Seymour Elementary School in Payson, IL (1998-2000), Pastor Hoover enrolled at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He served his vicarage at Luther Memorial Chapel in Shorewood, Wisconsin during the 2002-2003 year. After completing his fourth year of Seminary study and graduating with a Masters of Divinity in May 2004, he was called to serve as Assistant Pastor here at Trinity in Traverse City.
Pastor Hoover's duties at Trinity include general pastoral care of parishioners, as well as a concentration on the youth. Pastor leads the 5th and 6th grade Youth Group - Truth Corps, the 7th and 8th grade Youth Group - Jr. CORP, and the 9th-12th grade Youth Group - CORP.
