Rev. Daniel C. Meckes
is the grandson of Rev. Conrad Rook (Trinity Lutheran’s Pastor ,1922-29). Pastor Meckes was born and baptized in Fairview Park, Ohio, and grew up in East Lansing, Michigan, being confirmed at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Lansing. He attended Concordia, Ann Arbor, and graduated from Concordia, River Forest, in Elementary Education and with certification as a Director of Christian Education. He served as a DCE at Carmel Lutheran in Carmel, Indiana, before entering Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Upon graduation, he was ordained and installed at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Reese, Michigan, in June, 1989, where he served for ten years. He accepted a call to St. Matthew Lutheran in Walled Lake, Michigan, and served there until May, 2001, when he received a call to his current parish at Faith Lutheran Church, in Bay City, Michigan.
Pastor Meckes and his wife, Janelle, have been married for 26 years and have been blessed with four sons and one daughter. For the last 3+ years they have enjoyed having his mother, Ruth (Rev. Rook’s third child), living with them in their home.
