Pastor Paul Philp’s biography.
Paul Allen Philp was born
December 6, 1972 to Raymond
and Kamtin Philp. He was baptized on
December 24, 1972 at St. Paul's
Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
In
June of 1986. Paul and his family moved to
Traverse and joined Trinity Lutheran
Church. Paul was
confirmed
before Trinity's Altar on June 7, 1987.

During high school, Paul served as an acolyte at Trinity, the Acolyte Coordinator, Vice-Chair and later Chair of the Board of Youth Ministry, a member of the Church Council, made hospital calls as a deacon, and sang with the Adult Choir. Paul also had the privilege of serving as the book hearer for the final service in Trinity's old sanctuary, the first service in the new sanctuary, and at the Service of Dedication. During his college and seminary training, when he was home on breaks, Paul often assisted in the leading of worship services and preaching at Trinity.
In August 1991, Paul began his preparations for the Holy Ministry at Concordia College. Seward, NE. At Seward. Paul was enrolled in the Pre-Seminary program and was awarded the Bachelor of' Arts in Mathematics in May of 1995. In the fall of 1995, Paul enrolled at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO. He served his vicarage at faith Lutheran Church, Green Bay. WI. In May of 1999, he was awarded the Master of Divinity Degree.
Upon graduation from the seminary in 1999, he was as associate pastor at Peace Lutheran Church in Faribault, MN. While serving at Peace, he also taught part-time for one year at Cannon Valley Lutheran High School in Morristown, MN, where his wife also taught for five years. He became the sole pastor at Peace and had the opportunity to serve as a circuit counselor. After six years in the parish, he returned to Concordia Seminary in the fall of 2005 to begin full-time graduate study in the exegetical department. In June of 1997. Paul he was married to Sharon Meier of' Terra Bella, CA. Paul and Sharon have no children. Sharon teaches part-time at Our Redeemer Lutheran School in Overland, MO, where she is also the school secretary.
He now serves as one of the admissions counselors at Concordia Seminary. His territory includes the East Coast, from Maine to Florida as well as the Ohio River Valley and north as far west as the Mississippi River.
